The Challenge
Enbridge, an international industry leader in energy transportation and distribution, did not have a booklet that comprehensively explained total compensation or performance management. At Enbridge, every policy and employee program is designed to ensure employees get the most out of their employment and are able to develop their skills and advance their careers within the company. These brochures needed to communicate these programs directly to employees in an open and candid manner. Working with McIntyre Thompson Communications, Atom Graphics was tasked with creating print collateral that would fit the requirements.
The Solution
Atom Graphics created two booklets for Enbridge. The first booklet explains all aspects of an employee’s compensation package, and the second booklet explains performance management. The front cover concept for both booklets communicates ownership by employees of employee programs and emphasizes the proactive aspect of employees’ involvement in these programs. The face of the figure on the cover is cropped as she represents all Enbridge employees. Style throughout is corporate, respectful, and clean. Typefaces, colours and design style conform to Enbridge’s current graphic guidelines. Charts were custom designed for maximum clarity. A compact size (5.5’ x 8.5’) was chosen for greater portability and ease of readability. The orange in the Total Compensation booklet was printed as a spot colour for added vibrancy.
The Results
Helping employees understand their compensation programs and performance management equates to employees who are more invested in their work and their company. Now, with the means to provide employees with this information, Enbridge provides their employees all the information they need, at their fingertips.
